hahaha

anyways I was on one of the country lanes in dinas in wales yesterday and 2 ladies/girls gave me a wave,

i mean a proper wave not just a thank you

dont know if the were just waving at the car or what but i had to convince the girlfriend that ive never seen them before in my life

so if you were them one of them 2 nutters then identify yourself hahaha

first thoughts that maybe it was debbie as she is always up in the welsh wales area but the main point as why it may not have been her is that she drives a sera ........ why drive a fiesta if you dont have to

Right. I am now really worried. My Sera developed a misfire. Found out that one of the cylinder wasn't firing so removed the spark plug to have a look. One of them is completely covered in oil at the electrode end. Anyone any idea what this means? There is no blue smoke at any time before or after the misfire started. Had a look at the coolant and frankly I can't be certain whether there is any oil in it or not. I do not have to top my oil between oil change which I do every 6000 km.

Starter?

Hi again guys
Well I know it's been a couple of weeks but that's more down to lack of use of the sera as I've had to use my bike for work and it's bad news my starting problem still persists infact it's worse

So here's were I'm at now

At first occasionally car wouldn't start but after a few turns of the key and a bit of jiggling with things as if I know what I was trying to do but not really havin a clue it would start,
as when I turned the key dash lights dimmed and after a little discussion I assumed perhaps something to do with battary
I got a new battary and cleaned and tightened contacts
And crossed my fingers
But to no availe as today car wouldn't start and no amount of pressing or switch things or turning the key made it start but as its not been used for a few days and I'd now attempted to start it a few times I thought I should charge battary however when I connected it to charger it was nearly full, I re-attached the battary and tryed again , still nothing so I tryed jump starting it still nothing
I tryed jump starting it first using both +ve and -ve terminals nothing the other car was running ang had been a couple of mins - I assume this means I can rule out a problem with the battary
Then I tryed jumping it using the +ve terminal and the hook (I think is used to remove the engine) but again nothing - I think someone said do this to rule out a short on a earth wire
Then I tryed bump starting it , woo hoo this time it started
Am I correct in thinking this would mean the start is fooked?
I think I can see the starter is it on the far bottom left hand corner of the engine if stood at front of bonnet, with likes wheel an belt on it ?
If so am I also correct in guessing it won't be to easy to change without a pit or lift so perhaps better to get an actuall michanic to do for me?
Also do I have to source a particular starter or will the garage just be able to order any?

Once again thanks in advance for any help

I went out to my car today. Took off the car cover and jumped in.
Threw the keys in the ingnition and... nothing!
No reponse, nothing.
The battery I found out was very depleted and the interior lights and stereo did not respond.
Nor did the alarm and central locking.
I had a charged battery from my other Sera and put that in.
Nothing again.
I found three of the 15amp fuses blown and replaced them.
I tried boosting it and...nothing.
No stereo but the interior lights work now after replacing the fuses.
All the other fuses in the interior are fine.

Is this just an alternator issue?
Any advise would be appriciated.

Sera Exhaust. I Want It Quiet!

So We finally got a new exhaust on the Sera to replace the old OEM system that was leaking, rusting and didn't fit the bodykit.
It consists of the stock manifold, new flex join, new standard cat, 2 1/4" press bent pipe, a 'hotdog' resonator in the stock location, and a 2" triple pass muffler that is as long as will fit.

The exhaust note is nice, with no buzz at all, but it is WAY TOO LOUD!!!! I estimate over 100dB from past experience with my Corolla Levin. (I've got 3 straight through mufflers on that, lots of room under there, and it'll be getting another one soon).

What have you guys done to keep your Sera quiet? It needs to be as silent as possible, but there is barely any room under there. I reckon I could fit another resonator in the straight bit under the centre of the cabin, but not much else it seems.
Is there a particular muffler type I should use at the back?

Help! I need silence and wearing ear protection isn't an option, a car this small shouldn't make so much noise....

Window Screen Wiper Linkage And Written Off Sera.

Hi
I have searched, both Forum and Maintenance sections on here and can find little info re wiper linkage. I wonder if anyone might know, where I can get the central block that holds the spindle for the, NS (left) wiper blade arm, and also, the linkage balls, to the motor and OS wiper spindle. The housing for the NS blade spindle is worn, and the spindle wobbles all over the place, which affects the linkage to the motor and OS spindle.
Also probably looking for the little plastic cups that clip over metal linkage balls.
Trying to get, what was my spare Sera, up and running, after my main Sera was written off, by a "Bulgarian lorry trailer", which swung out and hit it, whilst I was driving up through France (Orlean's).
Some good spares there, if anyone wished to pick them up - Joking, unless you are in the area, to expensive.
Only thankful I am still alive. Nearly went under the trailer wheels.
Anyone who has any info re wiper linkage, I would be glad of your help.

Strange Clutch Issue

I got in the car this evening to find the clutch pedal was limp. I could just get into neutral by stamping it into the carpet, but it still bit immediately and completely if I lifted off, like an on/off switch. Failing clutch seems unlikely as it was fine yesterday evening and this was the opposite of how I'd expect a failing clutch to behave, I wondered if the fluid had leaked from somewhere. It was too dark to investigate though and I didn't want to have to stop at my parents house so I braved the 20 minute drive. Changing gear was rough at first but improved, by the time I'd got here the clutch was pretty much behaving normally, maybe a little slack at the top.

So, who wants to guess at what the hell happened? Could the massive ammount of damp last night have seized something? My mates car had an issue today as well - cranking but not turning over, which seems odd for a 2 year old car with 15k on the clock. when he tried it later it grudgingly started and is now ok. We wondered if the fog had got into the ignition system somewhere.

Anyone else had random issues today? Could evil fog be screwing with cars? Will we get fog that turns us inside out next week?

Rear Exhaust And Centre Pipe Needed Urgently

Hi Sera people - Trouble again!!! (and it's my birthday today on top of it all!!)

My Sera just failed the MOT because the rear exhaust box was not secure as the support bracket on the box has broken. They tell me it is all too weak to repair. I cn't afford a new one as things are tough right now but I do need to get it fixed so I can unfortunatley sell the car.

Any help will be most appreciated as the Toyota service centre who looks after the car quoted £400.00 and I just don't have the funds at this time.

Many thanks

Kind regards - Jeffrey
