Lancia Motor Club diary 2014-12


We have been doing some brake work on an Aprilia, as well as sorting out an driveline imbalance which was one of the wheels. This is now ready for the owner to collect, and its place in our workshops will be taken by an Aurelia B20.

The Flaminia GTL paintwork is complete. The trimmer has made and fitted a new headlining to the car—this has to be done before the glass can be refitted, and a new dashboard cover. The bumpers, lights and other brightwork have also been refitted and the contrast of the brightwork against the Newmarket Grey paint looks wonderful. The wheels are being refinished which will finish the car off beautifully.

The Touring Convertible has arrived back from having new carpets, seat covers and a convertible top made. He also made extra seat covers to protect the leather, and a lovely period style tool roll from the same materials. The engine bay is now being tidied before the engine is refitted.

The red Flaminia Touring GT we are looking after has had its engine rebuilt, and we are waiting for the radiator to come back from repairs, but that car is very nearly finished.

IMG_2613Another Flaminia is due in shortly for some paintwork and we brought a RHD Touring GT restoration project out of storage (we can restore it for you if you want) to aid making some floor panels for a car in Australia.

The Aurelia restoration project is finished. We have done quite a bit of test driving and we are confident that the car can now be released back to the car of its owner to enjoy.

The crashed Fulvia Zagato project has started. We will have to cut out most of the boot floor as accident caused much of this structure to distort.

Work has started on the Fulvia Zagato Competizione replica, to make it a bit more road friendly. The suspension has been raised to give it a bit more ground clearance, and the track rod ends were all very worn.

Elizabeth has to send some lambs to the butcher shortly, so if anyone wants some rare-breed lamb with very low ‘food miles’, then get in touch. Meanwhile, the ram has been busy with his wives, which will probably mean yet more lambs in March.


We are currently having a batch of Fulvia handbrake shoes made as people have not been sending back their old units. We need people to send back old units – brake calpers, brake shoes, starter motors, alternators / dynamos to ensure that the next person isn’t held up.


If you have cars insured on agreed valuation policies, please make sure the current value is realistic. Over the past few years, the values of many cars have increased. Some by a lot, some by a smaller amount. However if you are underinsured, the car may not be repaired or you have to contribute to the repairs.
