paint from pedals and pedal box. Some of it quite stubborn!

Beadblasted old pedal
box to remove flaking paint and rust.

Removed heater unit
Removed pedal assembly with clutch and brake master
cylinder intact.
Removed wiring loom
Removed wiper mechanism
Only things left on shell is front and rear suspension
and steering rack and windscreen.

Make a paper template of ports on cylinder
head and compare with ports on inlet manifold. Manifold
can be opened out slightly to match the head.
Measure combustion chamber volume with a burette. Record
information. Later I can use this data to calculate
the compression ratio of the engine

Finish lapping valves in. Temporarily
assemble head using inner valve springs. Fill combustion
chambers and check inlet and exhaust ports for leaks.
No leaks - good...

Lightened flywheel on lathe. Now just
under 2kgs lighter.
