The twin-cam engine fitted to the Montecarlo is generally reliable, but eventually it will require either a partial or full overhaul. Omicron can assist with both the overhauling procedure in our workshops, or supplying parts mail-order for DIY or local garages to carry out the work. These parts includes all belts, valves and guides, pistons, gasket sets, cylinder head bolts, water pumps, engine bearings, oil seals, filters, carburettor overhaul parts, clutches and so on... If you wanted a professional rebuild, then we are able to assist. We are able to carry out reboring and cylinder head facing work in-house as well as more complicated machining work. |
If you are preparing a Montecarlo for competition (check regulations to see what you can and cannot do) or simply for fast road usage, then we have a number of parts which will improve performance. These parts include: camshafts, vernier cam wheels, 1" wide timing belts. Twin carb conversions - either downdraught Weber 40-42-44 DCNF or sidedraught 40-45 DCOE, 48-50 DCO or the Dell'Orto DHLA versions.

We make a number of moulds to make replacement panels in house for the Montecarlo. These include:- • front bumper These panels are made from GRP, but exotic materials such as carbon fibre / Kevlar™for racing use. The front and rear bumpers are for the European style Montecarlo and can replace the heavy US versions fitted to the Scorpion. |
Original headlamps for the Montecarlo are very scarce and many complain of poor output. We now manufacture a quad-headlamp conversion kit for the Montecarlo and US Scorpion which updates the looks and provides enhanced light output.
For the US market cars, the headlamp lift motors can also be removed to reduce weight, but a new centre noseband will be required. |

The standard S1 Montecarlo brakes have a reputation for inferior wet weather performance. Most cars have had their servos bypassed which greatly reduces the chance of front-end lockup, but there are further enhancements which can be made Good quality brake fluid, uprated discs and pads, braided hoses are all easy upgrades which all make improvements. There are also a number of conversions which replace the standard calipers |
We can supply a fully adjustable set of dampers which transforms the car. Sadly this is an expensive kit, but is very effective.

We can supply a number of books which will help with the restoration and ownership of a Montecarlo. All these are good quality reproduction versions of the factory manuals.

We can supply a 6 point roll cage for the Montecarlo. A cage is usually a mandatory requirement for competition use. This complies with all current historic racing standards as per FIA and RACMSA regulations. |
We stock a number of badges used on the Montecarlo. We also have a wide range of other stickers and decals, including MARTINI sponsorship stickers as per the 037 rally car.
