Probably the definitive history of Lancia cars, very thick and very expensive (£50 when I bought it). Contains a number of rare photos, including a dismantled Volumex supercharger, if you've ever wondered what's really inside it.

Highly recommended if you're thinking of buying a Beta, covers history of all Beta Models, with short sections on what to look for when buying a Beta, and a short maintainance and trouble-shooting guide. Full production figures for all models, and detailed listing of road car technical specifications. The author owns the Volumex Coupe that appears on the front cover (and in a couple of magazine articles).

'Lancia Beta Gold Portfolio'

Essentially an enlarged version of the Beta Journal, even to the extent that the introductory sections on each model appear to be identical. Most of the articles from the Beta Journal are included, except for those on car-buying and those written by LMC members, and more have been added. If you have one of these books, then you probably won't want to bother buying the other.

Again, recommended if you can find it (it was primarily produced for LMC members, however I've seen it for sale in a number of London bookshops). A collection of reprints of magazine articles, and articles by Beta owners in the LMC.

A collection of reprints of magazine articles, Lancia press releases, and Lancia technical bulletins specific to Volumex cars. Contains a lot of Volumex-specific information that you're not likely to find elsewhere, but I'm not sure whether it's available for sale to non- LMC members.

With respect to the book, the History of Lancia, that as a Beta owner, rather than a general enthusiast of Lancia as a whole, this book gives about the right detail for the history and product line for me. I'll read more in the Web pages but don't feel the need to buy more history books. (Hugh W Poling - hwp2093@mu.ca.boeing.com)
